Updates include sleek, modern design and refined menu options for guests
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Martini Modern Italian, the long-standing beloved Italian concept from Cameron Mitchell Restaurants (CMR), celebrates its grand re-opening today after an extensive remodel. The restaurant’s updates reflect a more contemporary dining experience and incorporate feedback from long-time associates. The restaurant temporarily closed on October 28 and re-opens November 8 for dinner service at 4 p.m.
“At CMR, we are always striving to elevate our dining experiences, and this remodel of Martini Modern Italian is a reflection of that commitment,” said David Miller, president and COO of Cameron Mitchell Restaurants. “We’ve listened closely to feedback from our dedicated associates and researched trends across the industry, and by keeping our classic guest-favorite dishes and refining our offerings, we’ve created a more dynamic dining experience.”
The interior of Martini Modern Italian has been updated to better reflect its name, utilizing black and white marble and modern furniture that exudes sophistication. The entryway has been refreshed with added greenery and introduces a new wine room transformed from a coat closet. Darker finishes have been added across the dining room, emphasizing warmer lighting and brown leather accents that bring character to the space.
“The redesign of Martini is all about blending elegance with a fresh feel,” said CMR Director of Design and Architecture Randy Roberty. “We focused on elevating the warm, inviting atmosphere of the restaurant with contemporary elements, ambient lighting and an open layout. Each design choice was made to enhance the guest experience, providing a stylish and comfortable space that compliments the updated menu.”
The menu changes include adding new dishes and refining current options to enhance ingredients and offer simpler presentations. The most significant change is the addition of an à la carte steak section, offering a variety of decadent cuts of steak such as the Piedmontese filet and prime New York strip. The menu also features new family-style side offerings, including Crispy Potatoes with lemon jus and Parmigiano Reggiano, Spicy Broccoli Rabe with escarole and Calabrian chili and Cacio e Pepe with tri-peppercorn and Pecorino Romano. The bread service is elevated with made-in-house Loaded Focaccia and Truffled Garlic Bread options. Guest favorites like the Beef Carpaccio and Tuna Tartare remain on the menu! The cocktail program also has been further refined with an intentional focus on zero-proof options.
“The goal with the updated menu at Martini is to focus on simplicity and quality,” said Martini Modern Italian Executive Chef JP Iacobucci. “Our chef team is using fewer ingredients to let the natural flavors shine, while keeping our classic dishes that guests love on the menu. The addition of the à la carte steak options is a significant feature for guests to enjoy, and the enhanced cocktail program makes sure there’s something special for everyone with expanded zero-proof beverages.”
Martini Modern Italian is where timeless and innovative dining intersect, blending contemporary Italian style with classic Italian influence. The concept celebrated its grand opening in November 1996, becoming one of the first restaurants developed for CMR. It is also part of the CMR Short North Arts District Collection and is located across from the Greater Columbus Convention Center. The management team consists of General Manager Keith Moorehead and Executive Chef JP Iacobucci.
