Veteran Restaurant Executive Promoted to Executive Team
COLUMBUS, Ohio (March 30, 2016) – Steve Weis, of Powell, Ohio, has been promoted to Cameron Mitchell Restaurants’ (CMR) new position of vice president of development. Weis has more than 30 years of experience working with national corporations and restaurant brands.
“As our company sustains growth and a larger footprint in central Ohio and across the US, we are excited about our future and for Steve’s leadership to help us achieve our goals of restaurant development and expansion and take us to the next level,” said David Miller, president and chief operating officer, Cameron Mitchell Restaurants.
In his role as vice president of development, Weis will provide strategic direction for new restaurant development, locate new restaurant sites, as well as lead overall improvement and expansion for the multiple concepts CMR manages.
Weis joined the company in 2015 and served as the director of development, overseeing the opening of a new restaurant concept (The Avenue Steak Tavern) and new restaurant locations (Ocean Prime – New York City and Boston; Hudson 29 Kitchen & Drink – New Albany, Ohio; Rusty Bucket – Bingham Farms, Michigan; Northville Park Place, Michigan; Charlotte, North Carolina; Liberty Center, Ohio; and Sarasota, Florida).
Prior to joining the CMR team in 2015, Weis served as president of Max & Erma’s. From 2004 to 2010, Weis was regional vice president at Thomas & King, one of the nation’s largest Applebee’s franchises. Weis gained valuable experience as senior vice president of operations at Jillian’s Entertainment where they developed over 40 new locations in just six years.
Weis earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in public communication from The American University in Washington DC. He resides in Powell with his wife and their two children where he enjoys playing golf and spending time with his family.
