Award-winning restaurant’s 13th location is first in nation’s capital

WASHINGTON, DC (October 8, 2015) – Cameron Mitchell Restaurants is thrilled to announce that its award-winning modern American restaurant and lounge, Ocean Prime will open its 13th location nationwide in Washington, DC in October 2016. Its first foray into the nation’s capital, Ocean Prime will be located in the Colorado Building at 1341 G Street, NW. Serving lunch Monday through Friday and dinner nightly, Ocean Prime will offer guests prime seafood, steaks, handcrafted cocktails and world-class wines in a captivating ambiance with signature genuine hospitality.

Ocean Prime’s menu will pair the finest prime steaks with the freshest seafood and feature the highest quality ingredients in each made-from-scratch dish. The luxe, high-energy restaurant will evoke a timeless elegance with warm woods, captivating lighting and a welcoming yet sophisticated atmosphere.

A historic beaux-arts building located a mere two blocks from the White House on the corner of 14th and G Streets, the Colorado Building is one of the few category III landmark office buildings in the District of Columbia.

“For our first DC location, we brought in longtime CMR partner, Chicago-based architect/design firm Knauer, to create Ocean Prime DC’s unique look,” said David Miller, executive vice president of Cameron Mitchell Restaurants. “Each of our Ocean Prime locations is designed specifically for its location and inspired by the individual space. The historic nature of the Colorado Building will ensure that Ocean Prime DC offers a breathtaking backdrop for both business and social occasions.”

Spanning 9,644 square feet, Ocean Prime will seat approximately 280 guests and feature private dining rooms to accommodate more intimate gatherings and celebrations. The Lounge will be a welcoming, relaxing space for guests to enjoy expertly created cocktails handcrafted by talented bar chefs, while a separate sushi bar will showcase the freshest, most delicate and impeccably sourced fish, providing a total seafood experience.

There are 10 Ocean Prime locations currently open nationwide, with a Manhattan location set to open this month and a Boston location set to open in November. The concept has been praised across the restaurant industry for its extraordinary cuisine, genuine hospitality and sophisticated setting.
