Dynamic Duo Continues Heartfelt Hospitality in Philadelphia
Philadelphia; September 29, 2015 – OCEAN PRIME Philadelphia (www.ocean-prime.com) today announces new leadership with the appointment of Executive Chef Jason Shelley and General Manager Frank Hess. Both gentlemen have been a part of the Cameron Mitchell Restaurants (CMR) family for many years, and are excited to share CMR’s passion for delivering genuine hospitality with Philadelphians.
Executive Chef Jason Shelley originally hails from Pittsburgh. He began his career as a line cook at the popular Pennsylvania mainstay, Atria’s Restaurant & Tavern. He relocated to Columbus, Ohio when he received the opportunity to join CMR at the inspiration for Ocean Prime, Mitchell’s Ocean Club. As sous chef at the company’s flagship location, he experienced first-hand the company’s passion for delivering great food and genuine hospitality. When he was tapped to serve as opening Executive Chef at OCEAN PRIME Orlando, he jumped at the opportunity to bring CMR’s mission of making every guest experience memorable to a new market. After making raving fans of guests at the restaurant group’s Orlando and Atlanta locations, he brings that same enthusiasm back to his home state of Pennsylvania.
General Manager Frank Hess has been a member of the CMR family since first joining the company in 1999. His roles over that 15 year span have included dining room manager, sous chef, assistant general manager and sommelier. A member of the Court of Master Sommeliers, Frank brings extensive wine knowledge along with his gracious hospitality to ensure that every guest has an unforgettable experience while in his dining room. Frank lives with his family in Manayunk, PA, where he enjoys cooking and sports – both watching and playing.

Prime seafood and steak are the foundation of the restaurant’s chef-led menu, appealing to guests craving light or hearty fare. Signature seafood items include a raw bar, hand-rolled sushi and entrees that range from Yellowfin Tuna to Dutch Harbor King Crab Legs with drawn butter. Prime cuts of steak include filets, ribeyes and New York and Kansas City Strip, all expertly seasoned and broiled at 1200 degrees. Sides include indulgent offerings like Lobster Mashed Potatoes and Creamed Spinach, as well as Steamed Broccoli, Roasted Carrots and Sesame Fried Snap Peas. The dessert menu is composed of decadent options, including Ocean Prime’s timeless Baked Alaska and signature Ten Layer Carrot Cake.
