The Columbus-based comfort food staple will soon call Cincinnati home at The District at Clifton Heights
Crawford Hoying, an Ohio-based real estate developer, and Cameron Mitchell Restaurants (CMR) announced today that Cap City Fine Diner and Bar will open in 2024 on the ground floor of Hotel Celare, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel – coming soon to Cincinnati, Ohio.
Cameron Mitchell Restaurants’ award-winning, Columbus-based Cap City Fine Diner and Bar redefines classic comfort food. This will be the fourth location for Cap City Fine Diner and Bar, and its first location within the Cincinnati market. Located within the new mixed-use development, The District at Clifton Heights, the restaurant will feature indoor seating for 170 guests and an outdoor patio that can occupy 60 seats.
“As one of the most iconic brands within our portfolio of restaurants, we are excited to expand Cap City Fine Diner and Bar to the Queen City,” said David Miller, president and COO of Cameron Mitchell Restaurants. “After 28 years of delivering classic American diner comfort food in central Ohio, we are excited to partner with Crawford Hoying to bring this beloved concept to the Cincinnati food scene. I am looking forward to sharing the genuine hospitality for which we are known with our Cincinnati guests in 2024.”
Cap City is retro-cool and the menu follows suit. The menu includes classic diner favorites with unexpected and delightful upscale twists, alongside mouthwatering chef-driven dishes with big flavors. The drink menu features hand-crafted, classic cocktails like margaritas on draft and manhattans, along with its famous boozy shakes. The restaurant is known for its over-the-top desserts including the Seriously Big Chocolate Cake, 24K Carrot Cake and Chocolate Covered Peanut Butter Pie.
“We’re excited to bring one of our favorite concepts and brands to this great community,” said Brent Crawford, principal and founder of Crawford Hoying, developer of Hotel Celare and joint venture partner on The District at Clifton Heights. “Cap City Fine Diner and Bar has something for everyone, combining excellent food with the exceptional service that CMR is known for. We couldn’t ask for a better business to join The District at Clifton Heights and Hotel Celare.”
Hotel Celare is owned by Crawford Hoying and is being developed in partnership with award-winning hotel operator and owner, Shaner Hotels. Hotel Celare is part of the Tribute Portfolio collection, Marriott’s quickly growing upscale to upper-upscale hotel line, which features hotels with personality expressed through vibrant social spaces and focal design moments. Their target demographic isn’t specific to an age group, but instead revolves around “Modern Mavericks” – people who are vibrant, eclectic and curious about the world.
The Tribute Portfolio Hotel is part of a larger mixed-used development connecting campus and community – The District at Clifton Heights. The District at Clifton Heights, being developed jointly by Trinitas Ventures and Crawford Hoying, totals five acres in size along both sides of Straight Street, making it an ideal location that provides premium views in an active, pedestrian-oriented neighborhood. In addition to hospitality with Hotel Celare, The District at Clifton Heights will blend the fast-growing University of Cincinnati community with Cincy locals. Proposed programming includes a mix of student housing with The Deacon and The Hub, retail/restaurant offerings, numerous green spaces, public parking and multifamily.
