As chief financial officer and operating partner for Cameron Mitchell Restaurants (CMR), J.R. Dehring oversees all accounting, finance and technology operations for the portfolio of CMR restaurants.
Dehring joined the CMR team in December 2018 with 15+ years of financial experience, including six years in public accounting at Grant Thornton and PricewaterhouseCoopers. Most recently, he spent five years at IGS Energy, working his way up to vice president of finance.
Over the course of his career, Dehring has garnered extensive experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and analysis, investor relations and capital markets.
Dehring loves being part of the renowned CMR culture and working with an amazing group of people. His favorite CMR concept is The Avenue – as an old soul (his family’s words, not his), he loves the roaring ‘20s feel The Avenue provides.
While he is originally from Madison, Wisconsin, Dehring grew up in the Minneapolis, Minnesota area. He received a bachelor’s degree in finance & accounting and a master’s degree in accounting from Boston College, as well as a master’s degree in taxation from Northeastern University. He also is a certified CPA. In addition, Dehring has served as a young professional board member for the American Heart Association since 2013.
When he isn’t working, Dehring enjoys cooking with his family, following the stock market and spending time with his wife, Lindsey, and daughter, Ava. He also can be found rooting for the Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Twins, Boston Bruins and Columbus Blue Jackets – a unique blend of team allegiances that Dehring has gathered from cities where he has lived.
