So many exciting things are happening at The Barn – our new exclusive bourbon, community outreach and more!
We are proud to continue our tradition of creating unique new bourbon blends for the Barn, one at a time. Director of Beverage Ryan Valentine and his team visit the Woodford Reserve Distillery in Versailles, Kentucky to develop each blend. As he explains it, “We sample from barrels aged under various humidity conditions and types of wood. We taste various pairings from these barrels and leave with an order for 180 bottles that represent our unique Barn Blend.”
Stay posted for our flight tastings that will include bourbons reserved from our Blend #1 and Blend #2 as well.
Server Chelsea Dunham saw an opportunity in the last serving pans from our Sunday Brunch Buffet. She now delivers items to the Faithful Forgotten Best Friends camps (which house homeless families and their pets). Other leftover brunch items are picked up by volunteers for the Gahanna Community Plate.
All of the associates at the Barn delight in this opportunity to give to the needy in our home community, pitching in to get the food to others who can enjoy our bounty.
We are proud to have earned this award given only to select restaurants offering “interesting selections, appropriate to their cuisine and appealing to a wide range of wine lovers.” Come and love them even more at half price on Wednesday evenings!
Two days before Christmas, Sous Chef Colton Shope was the victim of an auto theft that robbed him of his set of chef knives – the carefully selected and maintained tools of his trade.
Receiving word of this, contributions came pouring in from Cameron Mitchell Restaurants’ associates to present Colton with a gift certificate to Sur La Table to use for new knives.
Considering not only the help, but the heart behind the effort, Colton says, “Thanks a million to my Cameron Mitchell family.”
