Alphabetical Comfort Food is anything but elementary. This Columbus food truck made a name for itself by taking any ingredient it could find and transforming it into a vibrant dish. Just listen to owner Jordan Lamatrice’s description of his favorite dish: The Braised and Confused.
“It’s a savory braised beef that’s topped with caramelized onions, sweet and tangy Jicama slaw, and a cheddar cheese blend,” says Jordan. “Between the crunchy sweetness of the slaw and the tenderness of the beef—plus the caramelized onions—this sandwich makes my mouth water just talking about it.”
At Alphabetical Comfort Food, diners choose an entrée and then decide whether they want it in a bun, on a salad or layered on fresh-made fries. But it doesn’t stop there—diners can also get some Beer Gut Chili on the side. It’s that kind of place: one where diners always want to come back but can always try something new.
Alphabetical Comfort Food began after Jordan wasn’t finding the opportunities he’d hoped for in life. After feeling like he’d hit one dead end after another, he decided to take his destiny into his own hands and started a business. Since then, Alphabetical Comfort Food has been seen around town sporting bold mustard yellow and purple colors while serving even bolder flavors to the Columbus community.
Jordan has experienced both the difficulty and reward of being a small business owner. He sees his place in Budd Dairy Food Hall as an opportunity to learn from his fellow Budd Dairy partners and Cameron Mitchell Restaurants.
“It’s no secret that when it comes to quality food and customer service, no one does it better than Cameron Mitchell Restaurants,” says an excited Jordan. He looks forward to introducing even more of Columbus to his inviting dishes and can’t wait to grow the Alphabetical brand.
We can’t wait to try Jordan’s dishes when Budd Dairy Food Hall opens later this year, but until then, catch Alphabetical at one of their stops throughout the city.
