I like to have something light and sweet for my out-of-town guests to nibble on in the morning while I’m preparing my Thanksgiving trimmings. These muffins are absolutely delicious with a cup of coffee on a chilly Thanksgiving morning.

Dry Ingredients:

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 ½ tablespoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1 cup butter

Wet Ingredients:

  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla

Fruit Filling:

  • 1 ½ cups blueberries
  • 1 pound cream cheese cut into 12 pieces


  1. Combine all dry ingredients in a stand mixer bowl. Mix on medium until thoroughly combined
  2. In a separate mixing bowl, combine all wet ingredients and mix until smooth
  3. Fold dry ingredients into wet, add fresh blueberries, portion into muffin cups and garnish with a cube of cream cheese
  4. Bake in a preheated oven at 350 for approximately 25 to 30 minutes
